At the core of ECHO is the food festival. The idea behind this year's festival is to celebrate the richness of nature in Tango and Kinosaki with food, architecture, crafts, and art all having similar value. Food, in particular, is what people benefit the most from, and it is the one that is closest to our daily activities and directly affects our feelings of joy or disappointment. Food, which we tend to take for granted, should be accompanied by satisfaction and deliciousness. By using this power to experience architecture, crafts, and art, we hope that visitors will experience what it means to incorporate ingenuity and creative thinking into their daily lives.

Architect Ryue Nishizawa created a place to eat where visitors can find joy in eating. Local chefs, restaurants, and producers will collaborate with Kyoto city chefs to present dishes that use local ingredients arranged and prepared with an outsider's point of view. During the exhibition, the chefs will take turns serving meals, creating a place where people who visit for food and people who visit for art can interact and enjoy the local food culture.
